Design, Build and Display
The design of the Liquid Jade is appealing and its form factor is impressive with a slim and lightweight profile. The back panel is curved to provide a great feel when held, but it is pretty glossy and attracts fingerprints, which is annoying. The metallic earpiece is design nicely and it gives an appealing feel to the device. Also, the handset does not provide enough grip when held in hands
The display measures 5 inches in size and it carries a HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels that is good enough with a usable pixel density of 294 pixels per inch. The IPS LCD panel is decent with good viewing angles, though there is some issue when used under direct sunlight as the screen is reflective. Anyways, increasing the brightness will take care of this.
Processor and RAM
The processor is the same old MT6582 clocked at 1.3 GHz, which is a pretty decent performer for day to day usage. The chipset is backed by 2 GB RAM, of which 1.4 GB of free making the device responsive enough even when intense processing is required.
Camera and Internal Storage
There is a 13 MP rear camera that definitely performs well with decent color reproduction and clarity and also does a great job when it comes to low light performance as it comes with auto focus and LED flash. The front facing 2 MP camera with fixed focus as also does a good work in clicking selfies.
Internal storage is 16 GB and there is option to expand this by another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card despite its slim profile. Of this storage capacity, around 12.16 GB is user accessible. Furthermore, the phone supports installing applications on the micro SD card that is an added advantage.
User Interface and battery
The operating system is Android 4.4 KitKat and it is layered with custom Acer UI that is pretty nice to use. The notification panel has quick toggles for almost all the necessary controls including Wi-Fi, mobile data and more settings. Also, there are new features including Acer Extend, Quick Mode and others.
Battery capacity is 2,100 mAh and we believe that this battery should be capable of pumping a decent backup to the smartphone enabling it to last for long hours of moderate usage.
