The Canadian Giant is struggling to survive and this phone marks a true change in its survival strategy, which will help it regain some ground in markets like India and Indonesia, where it still retains large loyal customer base. The phone will feature a 5 inch Display with 960 x 540 qHD resolution powered by 1.2 GHz Quad core Snapdragon 400 chipset backed by 1.5 GB RAM. Internal storage is 8 GB and can be extended using a MicroSD card. Imaging hardware remains fairly basic with a 5 MP rear shooter and a 1.1 MP front facing camera for those interested in video calling. Battery capacity is 2500 mAh. The phone will not feature the conventional BlackBerry QWERTY keypad and will be the cheapest BlackBerry phone so far with latest BB10 operating system.
The BlackBerry Z3 will be manufactured by Foxconn, the same company which manufactures iPhones for Apple. The phone will have a rubberized matte finish back cover flaunting BlackBerry Logo at the back. Since its based on BB10 it can also run most Android apps. BlackBerry isn’t known to keep a competitive pricing but it did sell Z10 at only 17,990 INR for some time.
