According to a GizBot report, Celkon officials have informed that the firm is prepping a Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone. The report quotes one of the representatives stating, “It’s not only the Android eco-system that we wish to dwell on. We also want to explore the Windows Phone platform.” Aiming to be a predominant vendor in the low-end smartphone segment of the Indian market, the firm appears to come up with its own UI as well for its upcoming smartphones. The report goes on stating that the Celkon Windows Phone handset will be launched by the end of this month and that it will be priced in the sub Rs 10,000 price bracket. Other details regarding the handset remain unknown for now and we expect it to be let out soon. So long, the Windows Phone market was meant only for a few global vendors such as Nokia that was predominantly launching such devices. Later, Microsoft entered a partnership with some makers including Micromax and Xolo and both have come up with such offerings with the launch of Micromax Canvas Win W092, Canvas Win W121 and Xolo Win Q900s. Now, Celkon is also planning to roll out one such device up its sleeve to make the competition fiercer.
