Gionee Elife S5.1 is now officially listed on Chinese manufacturer’s India website along with Marathon M3. While, the Gionee Elife S5.1 will be the next ultra slim phone (after Elife S5.5), the Marathon M3 boasts of a humongous 5000 mAh battery!
With OPPO R5 marginally beating it to the “world slimmest” title tag, the Elife S5.1 loses some of its sheen, but again this one doesn’t have a noticeable camera bump at the back and has a much appreciated 3.5 mm audio jack. Gionee has also trimmed down specifications, if you compare this to Elife S5.5. The display is slightly smaller 4.8 Inches in size and this one too is a Super AMOLED panel as expected. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection is also present. Elife S5.5 is powered by MT6592 1.7 GHz octa core SoC similar to its predecessor. There is 1 GB RAM, Mali 450 MP4 GPU and 16 GB non expandable storage to further assist the chipset. Based on Android 4.4 Kitkat , The Gionee Elife S5.1 features an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front selfie shooter. You can record 1080p full HD videos. Battery capacity is 2050 mAh (10 hours 3G talktime, 4-5 days standby time) while other features include USB OTG, Noise cancelation, 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi and AGPS. Hope Gionee has taken care of the heating issue which plagued Elife S5.5.
Gionee Marathon M3 on the other hand has a 5 Inch IPS LCD display with 720P HD resolution and OGS technology. Chipset is standard 1.3 GHz quad core MT6582, with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. Apart from massive 5000 mAh battery (32.46 Hours of 3G talktime, 32.8 days of talk time), Gionee has been generous with Secondary storage options. There is option for up to 128 GB of external storage and USB OTG. Imaging hardware includes an 8 MP rear shooter, with LED flash which can capture 720p HD videos and a basic 2 MP front camera. Other features of this Dual SIM smartphone include 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, Smart Gestures and Android 4.4 Kitkat.
