Huawei has sent out invites for its MWC event where it will introduce its first foldable phone to take on Samsung’s foldable phone. The launch invite also teases the foldable display of the device. There is a V-shaped silhouette that suggests that the phone will be bent outwards from the middle, which is unlike the Samsung phone that folds inwards. Interestingly, the 3D renders of the Huawei foldable phone were surfaced on the internet earlier today. The images are in-line with the design showcased in the invite. The renders reveal that it will have an edge-to-edge screen with a punch-hole for the front camera. The back of the device is likely to sport hinges at the middle that will allow folding the screen into two. Prrumours rumors said that it will be an 8-inch flexible display that will become a 5-inch panel when folded. Coming to the specs, Huawei has already confirmed that its first foldable smartphone will have support. The company will also introduce its Blong 5000 5G modem at the MWC event and it will power the foldable phone. The device will pack its 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset. Huawei’s MWC 2019 event is scheduled on February 24 and it will start at 2PM CET (6:30 PM IST). We will know more details about the Huawei foldable phone in the weeks to come.
