The Jolla smartphones are based on Sailfish operating system that is claimed to be a completely open source platform with the USP of providing complete support to gestures and a customizable interface. The Sailfish OS is touted to handle multi-tasking efficiently letting the users to see all the active applications in one screen that is not available in any other mobile platform. Furthermore, the operating system is capable of running the Android applications and they can be downloaded via Yandex and Aptoide stores along with other third party Android app markets as well. The Jolla Sailfish platform does not display the navigation buttons at the top, but it depends on the gestures to control the device. The firm claims that the smartphone grows with the users adapting to their habits. When it comes to the specifications, the Jolla smartphone is given a 4.5 inch IPS display carrying a qHD screen resolution of 960×540 pixels topped with scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection. It comes equipped with an 8 MP primary camera teamed up with LED flash for better low light performance and a 2 MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfies. Under the hood, the device will be using a dual-core 1.4 GHz processor paired with 1 GB of RAM for decent multi-tasking. It has to be noted that international variant of the Jolla phone will support 4G LTE connectivity, however there is no idea regarding the Indian variant.
