Display and Processor

Both smartphones have similar 5.5 Inch IPS LCD display with 720p HD resolution, which has become a standard norm in this generation phablets. None of the two lists Gorilla Glass protection, though Honor 4x comes with a scratch guard pre-installed. Honor 4X is powered by 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 chipset with 4 Cortex A53 cores and Adreno 306 CPU. Lenovo A7000 has a stronger MediaTek MT6752 chip with 8 Cortex A53 cores in big. LITTLE configuration with each cluster of 4 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and 1.3 GHz. Both smartphones have 2 GB RAM, but Lenovo A7000 will have an edge here. Rumors circulating the internet show Antutu score of 42,000 (unconfirmed) which is double of what we get for Honor 4x.

Camera and Internal Storage

The Honor 4x has a bigger 13 MP rear camera sensor while Lenovo A7000 manages with an 8 MP rear camera with Dual LED flash. Both phones can record full HD videos. On the front side, both of these devices flaunt a 5 MP selfie camera which can record HD videos. In our hands on time at MWC 2015 we liked the camera quality on Lenovo A7000, so we will have to wait till our full review to know the difference in camera performance. Internal storage is same 8 GB on both of these devices. You can also add 32 GB external SD card storage in both of these devices.

Battery and Other Features

Both of these smartphones come with similar beefy batteries. You can expect similar battery backup as well from 3000 mAh unit in Honor 4x and 2900 mAh battery in Lenovo A7000. The Lenovo A7000 flaunts dolby Atmos surround sound which can be experienced when you plug in your headphones. This is a big advantage over DTS audio in Honor 4x. Lenovo A7000 also flaunts latest Android 5.0 Lollipop based ROM while Honor 4x has Android KitKat based Emotion UI.

Conclusion

Lenovo A7000 has a major advantage of a faster chipset. It is also slimmer, lighter and cheaper than Honor 4x. Both smartphones are good value for money devices but Lenovo A7000 seems to have an edge over Honor 4x for now. We will later update this comparison after our full review of Lenovo A7000.
