Motorola Moto X (2017) Specifications

The Moto X had been the flagship lineup of Motorola until the Moto Z replaced it last year. This year, it seems that the Lenovo-owned brand is on the way to revive the former. Looking at the specifications of the Moto X (2017), it seems that it would sit just beneath the top of the line Motorola Moto Z2.

The upcoming premium mid ranger will reportedly sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Inside, there will be the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. The 64-bit octa-core processor packs eight Kyro 260 cores running up to 2.2 GHz. This is mated with an Adreno 512 GPU. In terms of processing power, the Snapdragon 660 can even give the Snapdragon 820 a run for its money. However, the former lags behind in graphics performance. The Moto X (2017) is expected to come with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM combined with 64 GB of internal storage. The smartphone will run Android 7.0 Nougat or later out of the box. One of the notable aspects of the 2017 Moto X is its dual camera setup, which is clearly visible in the leaked video. The phone may also pack a laser-assisted autofocus mechanism. However, we are still uncertain about the exact specifications of the dual lens module. The upcoming smartphone from Motorola will rock a premium metal and 3D glass build along with IP68 certification. The latter designates that the Moto X (2017) will be well resistant to water and dust. A fingerprint scanner will reportedly be integrated into the home button of the handset. Rumors suggest that a large 3800mAh battery may juice up the Motorola Moto X (2017).
