The Chinese company has posted a teaser on Weibo about this new variant. As per the teaser, it will be launched in China on January 5 and may later come to other markets as well. The new variant comes a few weeks after the OnePlus 5T Star Wars edition had been launched with a white textured back panel and included Star Wars themes. OnePlus has not revealed anything on the color of the variant’s back panel. The company, however, also hinted at the new variant through a video uploaded on YouTube. Now, the invite has also been sent out in Chinese media for an event on January 5. The company had celebrated four years of the Sandstone OnePlus One last month. The Sandstone variant had been part of the OnePlus till the OnePlus 2 and it was replaced by a metal finish in OnePlus 3.
OnePlus 5T Specifications
To recall, the OnePlus 5T features a 6-inch full HD+ Optic AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC and comes with 6GB or 8GB RAM. Currently, it runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will soon get the Android 8.0 Oreo update. For imaging, the OnePlus 5T sports a dual camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor and a 20MP telephoto sensor. There is a 16MP front camera for selfies. The phone is powered a 3300mAh battery and comes with dash charge support.
