Panasonic P100 Specifications
Physical Overview
The Panasonic P100 comes with a plastic body with a glossy finish all over. At the front are the display and the capacitive navigation buttons. Above the display are the sensors and the camera with the LED flash for selfies. It has fairly thick bezels at the top and bottom of the display, although Panasonic tried mask it with a rounded corner display, but it is actually a squared display with a rounded mask on top. 2GB – Rs. 5,999
The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass protection with a slightly curved edges. The right side has the volume rocker, and the power button, both of them are also made of plastic of the same color. The 3.5 mm audio port is provided on the top side, and the micro USB port is provided on the bottom side. The Panasonic P100 has the camera module, fingerprint sensor, and the loudspeaker at the rear with Panasonic branding. Removing the back cover reveals the removable battery, SIM card slots, and the microSD card slots. The back of the phone has a glossy finish with the sparkly blue color.
Display
The Panasonic P100 comes with a 5 inches HD (1280×720) IPS display. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla cover glass for protection against drops and scratches. The screen is not very bright, and it almost washes off in the sunlight even at maximum brightness. The color reproduction, color contrast, and viewing angles are not very good on this display.
Camera
The camera on Panasonic P100 is an 8MP with LED flash at the back, and for selfies, there is a 5MP shooter in front with LED flash as well. The rear camera camera captures good pictures with details in the daylight condition. But it fails to impress when capturing photographs in artificial light conditions. In low light conditions the LED flash helps a bit, but overall quality is not impressive enough. The selfie camera is a 5MP shooter which also comes with an LED flash for low light conditions. It did click some good selfies but it only defines the price of this device, and that’s it.
Software and Performance
The Panasonic P100 runs Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box; there is no notification about the next update yet. The smartphone comes with the stock interface with no layer on top, not even a custom launcher. That being said, the P100 does come with some pre-installed apps out of the box. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek chipset and 2GB RAM. The benchmark scores were decent and you can check them out in the screenshots above. Basic games and multitasking works seamlessly but playing graphics intensive game can be a problem on this hardware. The battery is also decent – it lasts a whole day on a single charge.
Conclusion
The Panasonic P100 is a decent smartphone for users looking to use basic smartphone features; it can do all that with a decent camera which entirely justifies the price. The P100 comes in two variants – 1GB RAM and 2GB RAM priced at Rs. 5299 and Rs. 5999 respectively. It is available for purchase exclusively on Flipkart.
