You may remember Samsung had to discontinue the Galaxy Note 7 due to widespread battery issues. These battery issues were causing phones to explode without any fault from the users’ end. After a thorough investigation, Samsung had concluded that it was indeed an hardware issue. Originally, the Galaxy Note 7 was launched with a 3500 mAh battery, sourced from Samsung SDI among other companies. It’s worth noting that Samsung SDI is also a Samsung group company. The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will come with a smaller 3000/3200 mAh battery, but the company that will be used is not known yet.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Specifications
Recapping in brief, the Galaxy Note 7 was launched last year with a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with curves on both the sides. The phone came with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with the latest version of Touchwiz UI on top.
Powering the phone was an octa-core Exynos 8890 Octa processor with Mali-T880 GPU. The phone came with 4GB RAM and 64GB UFS internal storage, along with support for microSD cards. Coming to the camera, you get the same 12 MP f/1.7 sensor that we saw in the Galaxy S7. It comes with Optical Image Stabilization and an LED flash. It features the same dual-pixel technology found on the Galaxy S7, with a pixel size of 1.4 µm. The Note 7 can record slow-mo videos and 4K videos @ 30 FPS. On the front, you get a 5 MP camera with f/1.7 aperture and dual video call support.

Pricing And Availability
It is not yet clear whether Samsung will reduce the price of the refurbished Galaxy Note 7. However, we do expect to see a significant drop in the price compared to the launch price of Rs. 59,900. As for the availability, Samsung is reported to complete the refurbishment process by the end of May and put it on sale in India by June.
