CAMERA AND INTERNAL STORAGE

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo has a 2 MP pixel camera with a video recording of 15fps. Samsung has not improved this feature beyond that available in Samsung Galaxy Pocket S5300 or Samsung galaxy Star S5282, each having a 2 MP camera. The internal memory of this device is 4 GB which is extendable to 32 GB using a microSD card. You also get a RAM of 512 MB similar to that in Galaxy star. However the operating system, Android 4.1 jelly bean is much better than that of Galaxy Pocket S5300 (which employs Android v2.7 ginger bread O.S.)

PROCESSOR AND BATTERY BACKUP

Samsung Galaxy Neo is powered by a 850 MHz single core cortex A9 processor which is quite obsolete and one step down from Samsung Galaxy Star (which has a 1 GHz processor). However it employs Android 4.1 jelly bean operating system, which is quite attractive feature, considering the moderate hardware. The battery capacity is rated at 1200 mAh which will provide you with a talk time of up to 6 hours (3G) and standby time of 300 hours (3G). The battery capacity is thus marginally weaker than that of Samsung Galaxy Pocket S5300 and marginally better than that of Galaxy Star.

DISPLAY TYPE AND SIZE

This phone comes with a TFT LCD capacitive touch display with a screen size of 3 inch, almost same as that of Galaxy Star and Galaxy Pocket S5300 (2.9 inch each). The resolution of the TFT LCD screen is standard 320 x 240 pixels (QVGA) with color depth of 262k. Weather it has pinch to zoom feature, like Galaxy Star is not mentioned.

CONNECTIVITY AND OTHER FEATURES

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo S513 comes with Dual SIM slots with 3G connectivity and dual SIM always on feature that lets you receive calls on one SIM even when you are using another. It also supports Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth. With dimensions of 104.95 x 57.80 x 11.80 mm it is sleeker than Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo S5300 (57.9 x 103.9 x 12.98 MM) and weighs 100.5 grams. FM feature is available with recording.  

COMPARISON

Lets compare Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo S513 (6990 INR) with Samsung Galaxy Pocket S5300 (6690 INR) and Samsung Galaxy Star S5282 (4990 INR). The biggest advantage of Galaxy Pocket Neo over Galaxy Star is its 3G connectivity which might be reason enough for many people to give it much higher precedence. Galaxy star is powered by a slightly better processor at 1 GHz clock frequency as compared to 850 MHz. There is no conspicuous difference in the display feature of both devices. Major advantage of Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo S513 over Samsung Galaxy Pocket S5300 is its operating system (Android 4.1 jelly bean). Galaxy Pocket S5300 has Android v2.3 ginger bread operating system which would cater to the minimal basic needs. Display of Pocket Neo is larger by a marginal 0.2 inch. Battery backup of Galaxy Pocket S5300 is significantly more with 360(3G) hours of standby time as compared to 300hrs (3G) in Pocket Neo. It also provides the option of conference call unlike Pocket Neo. But it comes with only single SIM slot.

CONCLUSION

Like all budget phones, this phone is meant for general purpose uses and social networking and not extensive gaming. Yet if you If you don’t want to venture into other brand markets like Micromax or Karbonn and want to stick to the brand value of Samsung , Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo S513 (6990 INR) , with just a few hundred extra bucks, is a better option over Samsung Galaxy Pocket S5300(6690 INR ).
