Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will now be available at new prices in India starting at Rs. 49,990. This price cut comes following the launch of the latest Galaxy S9 flagship models. Samsung has informed its offline retail partners of the new prices. Also, the new prices are now reflecting on the company’s online store.
Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ new price in India
The Samsung Galaxy S8 64GB model is now priced at Rs. 49,990 from its original price of Rs. 57,900. While the Galaxy S8+ 64GB model is priced at Rs. 53,990 from original Rs. 64,900. The Galaxy S8+ 128GB model is priced at Rs. 64,900 now down from Rs. 70,900. There is no 128GB model of the Galaxy S8 listed on the company’s website.
Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Specifications
Both the smartphones are nearly similar in terms of specifications and differences are only in terms of battery capacity, and screen size of the Infinity Display. The Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch QHD+ (1440×2960 pixels) Super AMOLED infinity display, while the Galaxy S8+ sports a 6.2-inch infinity display with the same resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio, complete with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phones also got IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India are powered by the Samsung’s Exynos 8895 SoC. The octa-core Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ is coupled with 4GB of RAM. Both smartphones feature 64GB of internal storage that’s expandable via microSD card up to 256GB. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were launched with Android Nougat and they have started receiving Android 8.0 Oreo updates last month. In terms of camera, both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones feature 12MP ‘Dual Pixel’ rear cameras with optical image stabilization and a f/1.7 aperture. On the front, the smartphones feature 8MP cameras with autofocus and f/1.7 aperture. Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and GPS. They both support Samsung Pay as well. The two smartphones also come with an iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, and facial recognition. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ pack 3000mAh and 3500mAh batteries respectively with fast charging support.
