The Facebook-owned messaging app is getting many new features and the latest feature is the support for group video calls. WABetaInfo reports the Android version of the app with the version number 2.18.145 and the iOS version of the app 2.18.52 have got this feature already. It looks like only select users get to use the new feature currently.

How to check WhatsApp group video calling support

To check if your WhatsApp has got the group video calling feature, you need to open WhatsApp and select a contact you wish to call. Start a normal video call by pressing the camera icon on the top right corner. After that check for a new ‘Add Participant’ button, if its there, you can make group video calls.

Recently, Facebook has announced several new features to be rolled out to the messaging app via timely updates with these new features and improvements. The most recent update brought a Chat Filter feature in the WhatsApp Business app and the group chats also got a slew of new features such as new admin controls, participant search etc. Coming to the group video calling feature, it seems to be available for select users and it cannot be activated with an invite as the WhatsApp Payment feature. It might be rolled out as a stable update for all users in coming weeks. With the group video calling feature, you will be able to make a video conference call to up to 4 people.
